Headline Snooze - David Lee Roth replacing Howard Stern

Any listener of Howard Stern's can tell you that David Lee Roth will be replacing Howard Stern on the east coast, while Adam Carolla will be taking over most of the west coast markets. After all, people have been talking about this since June.

Still, for reasons unknown, this is a top story on Google news today.

Why the delay? I realize "legitimate" news outlets are obligated to get their sources confirmed, but does that take 4 months? What other stories do you have for me reuters? Britney is pregnant? Christian Bale is the new batman? John Ritter is gone?

Charles Rocket is dead. He is perhaps most well-known for dropping an F-bomb on SNL in the early 80's. You can view video of that here.

Though I haven't got a stitch to wear...

Seeing Sweet and Tender Hooligans tonight at the Casbah. They haven't played down here since I've been around; they mainly stick to L.A. 'Should be lovely.

Also, I've finally started using my neglected myspace account. Hit that up, if you feel so inclined...

Wiki Wiki Wild Wild West

When it comes to answering heated debates among friends, Wikipedia is becoming the new IMDb.

I've spent a LOT of time reading through, and occasionally editing, a lot of interesting entries this week. I'm really amazed how much info they've gathered on, what some might consider, trivial matters.

For instance, were you searching for a list of every character associated with the Super Mario Bros. video game series? Look no further. Think the list is incomplete? Edit it. Anyone can.

Among many minor things, I uploaded a picture of Matt Skiba.

Sweet Emotion

In last week's USA Today, there was an article that focused on this year's slump in concert ticket sales. The piece touches on a few things, like Clear Channel's role in the fields of both promotion and venue ownership. Other problems sited rising ticket costs. The bulk of the article may bore most people, but I found one part interesting...

"There aren't a lot of great bands out there that can put on a great rock show," says Aerosmith's Joe Perry. "They didn't come up in that environment, in that era before MTV where you really had to be a good live band."
