Legitimate Work?

I recently asked San Diego ClearChannel station, 91X, if they'd be interested in having me write something up regarding the Coachella Music Festival. Translation: I needed tickets, and I had exhausted all other avenues. They replied and informed me of an upcoming competition they were having that would determine who would be their "Coachella Correspondent."

First, I, along with four or five thousand others, went to their website and filled out a questionnaire regarding Coachella, the artists involved, and some random bullshit about camping. The station then weeded out twelve applicants; 6 male and 6 female. Fortunately, they found my answers humorous enough to place me among the twelve.

Next was a 20-question quiz regarding the artists at Coachella. My seemingly low score of 11 tied me for first with another male contestant, although one of the females got 12. I’ll try to post those later so you can see how you might have fared. At that point, half of the contestants were sent home.

Moving on, the remaining 6 (3 guys, 3 gals) were given the assignment of reviewing an American Idol performance. I managed to sit through the show long enough to write this review. Again, with good fortune, I was kept in the running, while 2 more hopefuls were sent home, leaving only 4 of us (2 misters, 2 sisters).

Our last test of reporting skills involved the art of interviewing. I was asked to conduct a phone interview with Coolio. You can listen to the interview here. It's not the best stuff you've ever listened to, but neither is the other guy's.

My point in all of this is that you, the general public, are now being asked to vote for who you think did a better job. If you've got a second (and you probably do if you've read all of this), go here and cast your vote for "Weezer Will" (not a moniker I chose, but it works).

Thanks.
